A message from our psychologist and DBT Skills Group facilitator Joanne Ramos:
DBT always finds a way to show up in my day 😊 When it hits 2pm at the practice, we know it’s tea and bickie time! 🍪☕️ When I was drinking my New York Tea and eating my chocolate and jam bickie, I took a few moments to observe and describe the deliciousness of my tea and biscuit. I was purposefully trying to be in the moment to enjoy each little sip and bite without getting distracted by other things on my to-do list. It was so tasty, I had to have another and used my non judgemental skill in the process. These DBT skills, especially Mindfulness, allowed me to slow down, be in the present and really savour what I was doing. It gave me a chance to catch my breath and centre myself for the rest of the day.
